He began private practice as a mixed animal practitioner, primarily as a dairy and beef cattle specialist. In 1996 he limited his patients to dogs and cats, and began managing his parent's farm in addition to maintaining his busy veterinary practice. Following stem cell transplantation for treatment of Multiple Myeloma in July 2008, Dr. Bailey now works part-time in the practice.
Dr. Ann M. Selby, D.V.M.
Dr. Selby is a Newark native, and after graduating from The Ohio State University in 1990, she moved to northeast Ohio. She moved back to Newark in 2001 to work for Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel as a relief veterinarian in many practices in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
In 2007 Dr. Selby was blessed to meet Dr. Joe and Linda as their "temporary" veterinarian during Dr. Joe's medical recovery and in 2008 became a permanent member of the team of Bailey Veterinary Clinic. She is happy to work and live in Newark with her pets Opie, Bud, Jasper Jay, Georgie Girl and Bessie Marie.

She has taken continuing education courses in animal behavior and training, pet nutrition counseling, clinic management, as well as yearly technician updates. Her interests include gardening, soap making and showing registered Toggenburg dairy goats with her grandchildren. She and Dr. Bailey have 2 cats: Boston and Liza; an Australian Shepherd: Meg and 6 goats.

Juanita Hockingberry, Receptionist
Some would call working for a veterinarian a dream job. It is, really, getting to work with animals, helping to give them comfort and care and for a good part of her life, Juanita has done just that. In 1990 she took a job for a multiple vet mixed animal practice and it became much more than a job to her; it became a life as she gained many lasting friendships---and more than a few pets---along the way.
She joined Bailey Veterinary Clinic in June, 2008 and hasn't stopped marveling since then: about the quality of care given by the folks she works with, and the quality of the folks that come in for service, and the care they give back in return. She feels like all of the animals are just the icing on the cake!
Juanita is married to Brian, and between them, they have five children, two cats and a dozen chickens. They live north of Newark on "Heaven's Half Acre", and they'll tell you it's one of God's many gifts to them. In fact, they believe their life together is a gift and being part of Bailey Veterinary Clinic, for Juanita, is one of the best gifts of all.
Natalie Sutherland, R.V.T.
Natalie joined our team in August 2013 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. In addition to loving her job as a Registered Veterinary Technician she loves the outdoors and is a member of NWTF Women in the Outdoors.
