IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE
We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness care has rewards for both pets and owners. Wellness care is designed specifically for your pet and includes: Comprehensive annual physical examination and vaccinations, internal parasite testing, heartworm prevention, flea and tick control, neutering (spay for females, castraton for males), and specialized blood testing for all life stages.
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY
Our clinic maintains a pharmacy stocked with a wide range of the best veterinary prescription drugs in the animal healthcare field. We also carry effective flea and tick products to assist clients in keeping their pets pest free.
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. A thorough examination by the doctor is performed before the procedure, and laboratory blood work and chest radiographs may be deemed necessary before the pet is anesthetized for the procedure.
Radiographs – or X-rays – help evaluate musculo-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Digital radiographs are performed and developed with state-of-the-art equipment and may be sent to a veterinary radiologist for evaluation. Digital radiography allows sharing of your pet's radiographs with specialists and other facilities for management of advanced cases.
General surgery services are offered in our clinic. All patients are carefully examined, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Pre-surgical blood testing is available and may be required for some pets before undergoing surgery. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff, advanced sterilization techniques, heart rate and oxygen saturation monitors, and intensive after surgery recovery care with heated bedding. Orthopedic and advanced surgical procedures can be arranged for in-clinic or are referred to board certified veterinary surgeons at Med Vet, Inc. or The Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital.
Emergencies can occur at any time. If urgent care is necessary, clients may call and leave a voice message at our regular office number, or be directed to call the Columbus Veterinary Emergency Service at 1-800-891-9010. Directions to CVES: 300 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., Worthington, Ohio, just off US Rt. 23 exit of I-270. CVES staff is available everyday at any hour for emergency services. Veterinary patients can feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people. We know recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care and we strive to provide for your pet's comfort at all stages of their treatment.
Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We may help determine the cause of disorders such as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the pet.
Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.
Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful for a family. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.
